Privacy Policy — Goodie-Foodie

Goodie-Foodie ("we", "our", "the app") is a delivery-coordination platform connecting
small food/parcel businesses ("entrepreneurs") in Bangladesh with independent delivery
riders. This policy explains what information we collect through the Android app and
admin dashboard, why we collect it, and how it's used.
Information we collect
To use Goodie-Foodie, every account (entrepreneur or rider) completes an identity
registration that is reviewed and approved by an administrator before the account is
activated. We collect:
- Identity information: full name, National ID (NID) number, date of
birth, phone number, and a password (stored only as an irreversible hash, never in plain
text).
- Role-specific details: for entrepreneurs — business name, pickup
address, commodity type; for riders — vehicle type.
- Order information: customer name, customer phone number, delivery
address, and item/price details entered when an entrepreneur creates a delivery request.
- Live location: while a rider is actively en route to a pickup or
delivery location, their device sends periodic location updates so the assigned
entrepreneur can see progress on a map. Location sharing is limited to those two active
transit windows — it is not collected continuously, and each order's stored location data
is cleared once that delivery leg ends.
- Ratings: entrepreneurs and riders rate each other after each
completed order.
- Payment records: Goodie-Foodie does not process payments — all
payment is cash, collected in person. We only record the amounts owed and confirmations
of cash handover for bookkeeping between entrepreneurs, riders, and the platform.
How we use this information
- To verify identity and approve accounts before they can use the platform.
- To coordinate delivery requests between entrepreneurs and riders.
- To show a rider's live location to the relevant entrepreneur only during an active
delivery.
- To send a one-time SMS verification code (OTP) during registration and password reset.
- To calculate and record delivery charges, service charges, and commissions owed.
- To resolve disputes and respond to support requests.
Who we share information with
- The matched counterparty only: a customer's name/phone and delivery
address are visible only to the entrepreneur who created the order and the rider assigned
to it — never to other users.
- Platform administrators: for account approval, dispute resolution,
and fee reconciliation.
- Our SMS gateway provider (a BTRC-approved Bangladeshi bulk SMS
service), solely to deliver the one-time OTP code to your phone number.
- Google Firebase, our cloud infrastructure provider, which stores and
processes the data described above on our behalf under its own data processing terms.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Data retention
Order history is retained permanently for bookkeeping and dispute-resolution purposes.
Live location data is deleted as soon as each delivery leg completes. You may request
deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us (see
below); we will retain only what's legally required for financial record-keeping.
Security
Passwords are stored as salted hashes, never in plain text. Access to personal data is
enforced through role-based security rules — for example, customer contact details are
readable only by the assigned rider and the owning entrepreneur, and raw credentials are
never readable from client apps. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted
(HTTPS/TLS).
Children's privacy
Goodie-Foodie requires a valid National ID and is intended for use by adults operating
or working for a registered or informal business. It is not directed at children, and we do
not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here
with an updated "Last updated" date.
